When we are downloading and installing .dmg and .exe files we must be extremely careful not to accidentally also install malware. Many times it’s in the form of a tiny little box or a web browser extension.

  6. Find the Unwated App
  7. Click on it
  8. Click Uninstall

How to remove unwanted Apps from your Mac.

  1. Download CCleaner at https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner-mac
  2. Go to your System Preferences
  3. Select Privacy
  4. Full Disk Access
  5. Click little lock in lower left corner
  6. Enter in your Mac password – the password or pin you use to sign into your Macintosh
  7. Click box next to Ccleaner to give full disk access
  8. Next >
  9. Double Left Click to Open and Run CCleaner
  10. Note – You might have to close your web browser
  11. Next Go to Options > Tools > Uninstall
  12. Scroll down through the list of Apps
  13. Find the Unwated App
  14. Click on it
  15. Click Uninstall

How to remove unwanted Browser Extensions.

In Chrome

  1. Click on the 3 little vertical dots in the upper right corner of your browser window
  2. Hover over More Tools > Click Extensions
  3. Find the unwanted Extensions >
  4. Click Remove or the blue circle to turn that extension Off

In Safari

  1. Click on Safari – in the upper left hand corner
  2. Click Safari Extensions
  3. Scroll down >
  4. Update wanted extensions or Uninstall unwanted extensions

In Firefox

  1. Click on Firefox – in the upper right corner
  2. Click 3 little lines
  3. Click Options
  4. At the bottom left > Click Extensions & Themes
  5. Click Extensions
  6. Click the little blue circle

In Edge

  1. Click on Edge – in the upper right corner
  2. Click 3 horizontal dots
  3. Click Extensions
  4. Click blue circle to Remove or Enable
