How to Have a Little Tech Fun with these Computer Pranks:
- Announce the Time – go to system preferences > date/time > under the clock > checkbox to announce the time (set it to 15m or 30m)
- Change the desktop picture a lot – go to system preferences > desktop & screen saver > desktop > change picture > use pop-up menu to set it to 5 seconds
- Make their Computer take a nap when they are working – go to system preferences > click energy saver > click schedule > set target to sleep in the middle of the day when he is working 😉
- Change the Mouse pointer – PC – Control Panel > Mouse > Pointers > Change it / on your Mac – System Preferences > Accessibility > Cursor Size
- Make the mouse sleepy – Mac – System Preferences > Mouse > then alter tracking speed / PC – control panel > Mouse > mouse properties > adjust the speed > click OK
- Flip the Screen upside down – on the PC press CTRL+ Alt + F1 / on a Mac – System Preferences > Display > change degree of rotation
- Make great Typists make mistakes – Change the keyboard from Qwerty to Dvorak or change the language entirely
- You can also move the dock or taskbar – make it gigantic or really tiny and change the color to nighttime by inverting the colors under accessibility
- If your person uses modifier keys (keyboard shortcuts) you can disable them- but that might get you into trouble
- Change Siri’s or Cortana’s voice, gender, and language to Russian or Chinese
Basically, play around with everything and anything in system preferences and settings or change the options in apps that the person you are pranking uses most often – like mail, pages/word, safari/chrome.
Enjoy and Have Fun! See you on the other side. Bonnie

Thanks, Kathryn.
Hi Bonnie,
Not sure if you remember me or not but I was one of your students about a year ago.
I signed up with HeyTutor.com and they’re looking for instructors to help with all sorts of different things. Anyway, I’m not available for this one easy gig that’s just teaching how to use Google Chrome and basic computer skills. Let me know if you’re interested and I get you hooked up with them.
Thanks! —Kathryn Hitt 817-658-8225
