I am a Geek. Geeks don’t like AOL. If you search for “aol sucks” on the Internet – you will find 11,300,000 results.

As many of you already know, I make house calls to help folks with their computers, their email, updating, etc.
Lately, I have been experiencing and influx of people that are trying to hang on to their AOL accounts. These folks tend to be very stubborn and still want to read their AOL email in the AOL web browser and hear the familiar statement “You’ve Got Mail”.
But; AOL doesn’t sync and never will! And this is why AOL drives me nuts!
Since 1985, AOL has learned how to survive. They partnered with Yahoo!, and Verizon but the format is different and the Internet doesn’t show any favoritism.
In the end, Folks want to be able to delete their email and not keep seeing the same deleted email on their other devices that connect to the Internet.
That means that folks that continue to use AOL as their email and want their email to sync, must forward their AOL email to their Gmail, Outlook or iCloud accounts so that when they delete or unsubscribe, the email will actually be gone from the server and their contacts and calendars will match across all devices.
I know you want to know, Yes; in the old days, I too, had an AOL email address and AOL IM. It was @bhammer612. But, it’s long gone for a long time now.
I have a Gmail email address which I use to sync everything: my email, address books, calendars, and notes. And I am very happy because I am looking at the same email, the same contacts and the same calendars on all of my devices.
